Past simple

The past simple have rules. In the past simple use the verb to be.

Positive regular verbs end in... ed I was there.
Negative use didn´t+ infinitive. We weren´t there
Questions use did+ infinitive. Was she there?
Yes, she was. No, she wasn´t.
Why was she there?

In the questions put "Did" Example: Did i stay?

In the past simple have irregular verbs and regulars.

In the irregular the word may change.
Irregulars

go They went home. sit She sat here.
They didn´t go home. She didn´t sit here.
Did they go home? Did she sit here?

In the regular verbs put verb+ed.
Regulars

play They played football. open She opened the door.
They didn´t play football. She didn´t open the door.
Did they play football? Did she open the door?

like- liked prefer-preferred carry- carried play-played
hate-hated stop-stopped study-studied enjoy-enjoyed
close-closed travel-travelled tidy-tidied stay-stayed
